Chudovo is Recognized as the Best Correctional Health Software Development Company

Corporate Vision awarded Chudovo with the title of the best correctional health software development company in Europe for 2025. Our team is grateful for the recognition of our achievements. Chudovo is a custom healthcare software development company that has been operating on the market since 2006. Our company’s clients include different types of businesses, ranging from medical startups, healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical companies, to large software product companies serving the medical sector and hospitals.

Case Studies from the Correctional Healthcare Industry

One of Chudovo’s customers was a leading US healthcare solutions provider, PharmaCorr, which facilitates the provision of services to people in correctional institutions and ensures a stable process of providing a full range of medical services. The collaboration between the companies lasted over five years, during which time significant effort was invested in supporting existing customer solutions and developing new applications. Below is a more detailed overview of the executed works:

EHR System

The customer had an existing, successfully functioning electronic health record system that supported the capture, storage, and processing of patient medical data and was critical for healthcare coordination. Also, the company faced several challenges with the outdated solution: The legacy app was difficult to maintain, had limited scalability, and suffered from performance issues. At the beginning of the cooperation, the development team started with the maintenance of the legacy application, and later the developers started to rewrite it from scratch on a new technology stack.

Role-Based Access Control System

An implemented role-based access control system ensures that only authorized personnel have access to the medical information of the patients in the prisons and jails. The medical staff with different specializations and responsibilities have access only to the information they need to perform their duties. For example, a doctor and a nurse have different access rights. For instance, a doctor can issue prescriptions for medication, but a nurse cannot. The Chudovo team has developed a solution from the ground up that enables the management of user roles, permissions, and access to different connected medical applications/services.

Correctional Pharmacy Logistics and Inventory System

Implementation of the pharmacy logistics and inventory system and its integration with the EHR system play an important role in streamlining the planning, ordering, tracking, and delivery of medications to correctional facilities without delays. Automation of the inventory processes reduces the risk of human error and allows physicians to focus on other aspects. The medication logistics and inventory management system is important because patients in prisons don’t have to think about order and purchase of medications themselves; everything is delivered to the appropriate facility. The Chudovo team developed this solution from scratch for their correctional client. It was a back-end application that acts as an intermediary between the electronic health record (EHR) and UPS (United Parcel Service).

Independently, the team developed an application for scheduling and ordering large quantities of medications (as an additional part of medical applications) when needed at a specific correctional facility.

Healthcare Help Desk Ticketing System

A helpdesk ticketing system is important for the smooth operation of EHR systems and healthcare services in correctional facilities. The Chudovo team has developed a service that allows you to accept tickets, prioritize tasks, and process them within a specific timeframe based on the severity of the issue that occurred. This solution helps with both software errors and other medical issues, such as medication deliveries, delays in certain services, and more.

Other Case Studies from the Correctional Healthcare Industry

The Chudovo team also collaborated with another company with its own healthcare app ecosystem and offering services to the correctional healthcare industry – YesCare (formerly Corizon Health). This company was a major contractor providing medical, dental, mental health, and substance abuse treatment to incarcerated individuals in jails and prisons across multiple states. This project involved a healthcare applications ecosystem that initially required maintenance and then required the addition of additional features. These included:

EHR Solution

This solution supports the management of electronic medical records, including complete treatment histories, diagnoses, and related documentation. The system also offers options such as electronic prescriptions, ordering medications from correctional facilities, monitoring their status, and much more. The Chudovo team’s primary responsibilities include 24/7 DBA, maintenance and support, and feature development.

Medical App with Facilities List

The team developed an app from scratch that included all healthcare partners. The app offered options for filtering, sorting, and searching for facilities on a map based on different criteria.

Medical Application for Logging Patient Events

The team created an application whose primary function was to log patient events such as: changes in medical records by physicians, medication adjustments, status changes, prescription corrections or changes, etc.

David Wright, Manager of Dev Operations at Corizon Health (YesCare), reviewed the Chudovo team on Clutch: “Thanks to Chudovo, the company has reduced their time to deliver by half. They’ve also experienced no database emergencies. The team has been greatly reliable, ensuring that every project will be completed. Stakeholders are happy with their services, resulting in a good ongoing relationship. With Chudovo’s help, we’ve reduced the time we need to deliver projects by about half. Apart from that, we’ve also had no emergency database issues since they took over our databases’ management. Meanwhile, we’ve recently gone over a full review of the work they’ve done, and everybody is happy, including our CIO.”
