IT Audit for Paint Manufacturing Company

An American paint manufacturer with more than 157 stores across the USA needed consultancy services in auditing their entire IT infrastructure. The company was required to check the manufacturer’s IT infrastructure to audit its entire application and infrastructure landscape, check and analyze the qualifications and duties of the current IT department, have a clear overview of expenses distribution, find ways to optimize IT department expenses and come up with recommendations to drive the business forward.

Our IT auditing team visited the customer’s company and conducted an on-site audit and analysis on areas specified by the client. Our IT specialists also interviewed heads of various departments to determine the challenges they face and their current needs. Our auditing team came up with recommendations on the current ERP system and its potential substitution by other ones that would fit the organization’s needs as well as an option of custom development of their own ERP system/POS. Besides, IT audit experts suggested core changes in their current processes and tools to reduce costs and optimize processes. Additionally, the team suggested security solutions to address the security challenges and provided recommendations on technologies to use to create applications that process user-sensitive data to ensure high security and regulatory compliance.

Mobile Classifieds App from Scratch

Chudovo built an iOS mobile classifieds application for a German-based startup. The startup’s founder is an entrepreneur whose idea was to create a mobile application that connects local retailers and manufacturers directly to customers. Chudovo actualized the founder’s idea by developing a mobile application that showcased local businesses, products, startups, events, services, hotels, bars, online stores, and B2B offers and linked them directly to potential customers. The mobile application was supposed to become another additional and digital way for retailers to offer their products.

The app had user profile management, advanced search and filtering options, a messaging module, advertisement posting and management, reviews, analytics and reports, an admin module, and more. The mobile development team delivered this retail software for small businesses within the agreed timelines. This enables the startup to build an efficient marketing strategy and initiate its marketing efforts on time.

Automatic Seller Platform Conceptualization

One of our key offerings in retail software development is technical requirements gathering analysis and prototyping. In this area, we worked with a client who wanted to develop an automatic system for goods reselling. The system was to analyze the most popular products on the leading e-commerce platforms in America like Amazon, eBay, etc., and define the lowest price proposition. The system needed to also anticipate the best possible profit from reselling the selected item, and if the profits are reasonable, they should automatically be published on the platform.

Since our client only had a rough idea of what they wanted to achieve, our team of business analysts embarked on a fact-finding mission to gather the full requirements for the application. Additionally, they looked at what competitors were doing, and what could be improved upon and analyzed all the facts they gathered. The end product was a clear technical definition of all the requirements of the application. Our team of retail software developers took the requirements and prototyped an auto seller platform with goods search and analysis, statistics generation, and publishing of the most profitable offers. Our client received the technical requirements for the application, and a working prototype as a proof of concept.

Order Management System Development

The client, an e-commerce company running two different e-commerce platforms, needed an order management system(OMS) that would integrate with their e-commerce platforms. The company needed an OMS to automate and streamline the entire order management process from customer purchase to product delivery. Additionally, they required the OMS to support real-time monitoring of all order processing stages and support analytics-driven approaches in planning and optimization.

The retail development team built a custom OMS that supported order processing, payment processing, inventory management, order fulfillment and shipping, return management, and interactive dashboards for reporting and analytics. The OMS supported integrations with online selling channels, payment gateways, warehouse management systems, transport management systems, analytics, Power BI tools, and accounting and tax solutions.

The OMS not only optimized the order management process but also resulted in a reduction in the time between order placement and fulfillment and came with analytics and reporting to predict future demand for products to identify future sales strategies.

ERP Retail Software for Sales and Inventory Management

An American diamond manufacturer and jewelry retailer needed an ERP system with specific modules for each of its departments. The ERP needed to automate internal processes and store vast amounts of information in a structured manner.

Chudovo was tasked with developing this system. Our engineers specialized in retail software development worked on this assignment and delivered a tailor-made ERP system for this company. The ERP system we built had modules for material requirements planning (MRP) to manage and automate the manufacturing process, a module for retailers working with the manufacturer, and a module to coordinate product shipping and e-commerce support.

Users of the e-commerce module could look through an online catalog of products, access jewelry visualization, and product details, and find the nearest store using a map service. Retailers could manage product prices easily, customize permissions, and access detailed reports with insights into their activities.

The ERP system not only automated the various processes for the manufacturer, but it also made it easy to manage inventory and coordinate sales with different retailers and direct customers.

Omnichannel retail platforms

FAQ

What is the difference between omni-channel retail software and multi-channel retail software? Answer

Omni-channel retail software is designed to coordinate and integrate the different channels of interactions with customers to offer customers a unified and consistent brand experience across all channels. A business may have different channels where customers can shop. This may include in-store, mobile applications, or online platforms.

Omni-channel retail software coordinates all these channels to ensure that customers have a consistent experience regardless of the channel they choose to interact with. Additionally, it allows customers to switch channels without any problems. For instance, a customer may start shopping through a mobile application, but choose to pick up the item physically in-store. Examples of Omni-channel retail experiences include Amazon, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, and Disney Theatrical Group.

In multi-channel retail software, all the different channels a customer can use to interact with a business are not coordinated to offer a consistent experience. Instead, each channel operates independently. Therefore, a business can have a physical store and an online store, but both operate as independent units.
